Bacopa Monnieri, when grown in aquatic conditions, demonstrates a strong adaptability, and it can even transform into a fully submerged form. The submerged leaves have a different shape compared to the aerial leaves, being somewhat inversely ovate to elongated oval in shape and typically light to bright green in color. This aquatic plant exhibits a wide range of adaptability to water quality, making it suitable for beginners in cultivation. In terms of growth rate, aquatic Bacopa grows slightly slower than its terrestrial counterpart, especially in low-light environments, where growth can be described as sluggish. It doesn’t have high demands for carbon dioxide in the water, and it can thrive even with the addition of nutrients alone. However, it’s important to maintain a suitable water temperature, as excessively high temperatures can lead to leaf loss in newly transplanted aerial Bacopa.
